The problem
Months of injections, weigh-ins and side effects are the reason people stay in an app they have stopped liking. Starting over means losing the only record of how the first dose went, and no one retypes a year of shots.
What Dozify does
Reads the file your old app wrote
Export from the other app, open Dozify → Settings → Import, pick the file. Dozify recognises Shotsy, Glapp, GLPzy and GlucoPal exports, its own JSON backup, and any CSV with a date column. It works out which one it is rather than asking you.
Shows you the numbers before it writes anything
How many weights, injections and side effects it found, the dates they span, how many are already in Dozify, and how many rows it could not read. Nothing is written until you tap confirm.
Importing the same file twice does nothing
Records that match something already here are counted as duplicates and skipped, so a second run is safe: useful if you export again after a few more weeks.
A backup first, and all-or-nothing writing
Dozify writes an automatic backup to your device immediately before the import. The import itself is one transaction: if anything fails it is rolled back completely, because half an imported history is worse than none: you cannot tell which half is yours.
The file never leaves your phone
It is read on the device. Nothing is uploaded, there is no account, and no server sees your records.
What comes across, and what does not
Imported: weight entries, injections (date, time, dose, site, notes) and side effects with their severity.
Not imported: vials, progress photos and check-ins. Either the other app has no equivalent or the mapping would be a guess, and a guessed record is worse than an absent one.
Add a medication before importing injections. A logged shot has to belong to a medication, so if you have not set one up yet, Dozify tells you on the preview screen and brings in your weights and side effects only. Add the medication and import the same file again: nothing already here is added twice.
Coming from one app in particular
Each of these pages lists the column names Dozify looks for in that app's export, so you can check your file's header row before you start.
If the file is not recognised
Dozify says so rather than importing zero rows quietly. Any CSV with a date column will read; if yours does not, send it to us from Settings → Suggest a feature and the format gets added: a file we cannot read is our gap, not yours.

Where it stops
Weights, injections and side effects come across. Vials, progress photos and check-ins do not: either the other app has no equivalent or the mapping would be a guess, and a guessed record in a medical log is worse than a missing one. Rows Dozify cannot read are reported back to you as unread rather than silently dropped, and a medication has to exist in Dozify before injections can be attached to it.
Private by default
Your health records stay on your device and are never uploaded. There is no account and no cloud sync. Usage statistics never carry a medication name or a symptom, details in the privacy policy.
Questions
Which apps can I import from?
Shotsy, Glapp, GLPzy and GlucoPal exports are recognised, along with Dozify's own backup files and any CSV that has a date column.
My app is not on the list. Now what?
Export a CSV from it and try that: a date column is the only requirement. If the file is not recognised, Dozify tells you instead of importing nothing quietly, and you can send it to us from Settings → Suggest a feature.
Will importing twice duplicate everything?
No. Records matching something already in Dozify are counted as duplicates and skipped, so running the same file again is safe.
What happens if the import fails halfway?
It cannot. The write is one transaction: it either completes or is rolled back, and an automatic backup is taken immediately before it starts.
Does the file go anywhere?
No. It is read on your phone. There is no account and no server involved in an import.
